Visit of the 4th Primary School of Kos to Astir Odysseus Kos Resort & Spa
A unique experience awaited 40 students from the 2nd and 3rd grades of the 4th Primary School of Kos, who visited the Astir Odysseus Kos Resort & Spa on May 29, 2025, as part of the educational program «Philoxenia MOU» which means “My Hospitality”.
This program, which aims to familiarize children with tourism and the importance of hospitality for their local community, offers young students the opportunity to learn firsthand about the operations and values of a high-standard hotel, as well as the significance of sustainable development in the tourism industry.
During their visit, the students were given a tour of the hotel facilities, met professionals from various departments, and learned how each service operates, from the reception and restaurant to housekeeping and garden maintenance. The children showed great interest, asked questions, and participated enthusiastically.
The hotel staff warmly welcomed the young visitors and shared with them the essence of Greek hospitality, emphasizing respect, courtesy, and quality service.
The visit concluded with a small reception and lots of playtime in the hotel’s renovated playground, where the children enjoyed juices and snacks and received souvenir gifts from the hotel.
This initiative was a wonderful combination of learning and fun, strengthening the children’s connection to their local area and to tourism, one of the most important pillars of the local economy.
