Exploring Kos nightlife: trendy beach-bars, lively bars and nightclubs
Kos’ nightlife is lively, rich and diverse, featuring a variety of entertainment choices for all ages and all tastes.
The heart of Kos nightlife definitely beats at the famous “Bar Street” which is located in the centre of Kos town, between Liberty Square and the Ancient Agora. Here you’ll find side by side taverns, restaurants, trendy cafes, bars and nightclubs, for all preferences and tastes. Whether you prefer rock music, electronic sounds, jazz, pop or even live Greek music, this is the place to find your favourite spot to hangout and have a drink – or two.
Parties take place every night, and last until early in the morning, especially at the nightclubs which can be found at the seaside area of Lambi and around the marina of Kos. For lively beach parties, take a stroll along the beach of Kos town, in the direction of Lambi, where you’ll find plenty of popular beach bars.
For all-night parties there is also the choice of Kardamena at the south coast of Kos. This resort used to be quite popular with British tourists, but today the crowds are more mixed. Kardamena is buzzing with numerous night-clubs and disco-clubs where the party keeps pumping long after midnight. More clubbing options can be found at Tigaki, Agios Stefanos, and Psalidi.
But nightlife in Kos does not necessarily mean clubbing and staying up all night. For those who prefer a more relaxed type of entertainment, there is a great variety of atmospheric cafes, bars, beach-bars and pubs all over the island, to sip your cocktail and chill-out.
Mylos Beach Bar in Kos town is quite famous. It’s a trendy place with chill-out music, a large garden, a sandy beach and nice atmosphere.
Another favourite hang-out is Lofaki Bar Restaurant, located in a small hill just outside Kos town, in an area called Giapyli. Lofaki offers stunning views over Kos town and a relaxed, romantic atmosphere. For a laid-back afternoon you may also visit the cozy Aplo Beach Bar at Mastihari to enjoy a cold beer and amazing sunset views, or the Agios Fokas Beach Club which is right on the beach of Agios Fokas.
