Fun Pastimes on Kos Island: Kitesurfing

Like windsurfing, kitesurfing is a pastime for active travelers who love to dare both the waves and the wind. The island has several centers where you can learn this daring, yet thrilling sport.  Astir Odysseus Kos Resort & Spa collaborates with trained professionals to organize all kinds of sporting activities for our guests, so feel free to ask us.

Among the kitesurfing centers of Kos, Kitesurfing Kos is the closest to Tigaki and our resort. The center is run by professional kitesurfer Giuseppe Amoroso and offers classes in German, English, Italian, and Slovakian. They offer classes for beginners, but you can also join them to improve your riding skills – Wave Riding, Freeride, and Freestyle. Classes are customized according to the rider’s wishes and needs. Coaching is personalized.

You can also practice kitesurfing in Psalidi, either alone, or under the supervision of a trained instructor from Big Blue Surf Center. This center offers classes too. They have NORTH KITEBOARDING kites and boards and the lesson price includes all the equipment. Their location is also excellent as it takes advantage of the venturi effect created between Turkey and the Greek coast. Big Blue Kitesurfing cooperates with the Horizon Surfing Center in Mastichari too, so you can contact them for classes close to your location.

In Psalidi you will also find the Windzone WindSurfing & Kitesurfing Club. They offer both rentals and classes, either private or for small groups. You can learn kiteboarding safely with IKO instructors. Lessons are available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Greek.

Kitesurfing Kos & Water-Proof on Mastichari Beach offers trial classes, personalized lessons, and rentals too.

Kitesurfing professionals recommend the beaches at Psalidi and Marmari as the best to practice the sport for experienced surfers, while the Mastichari Beach is more suitable for beginners.
