The best seaside spots to catch the sunset on Kos

Romantic souls, nature lovers, sunset-hunters: there is one spectacle that leaves no-one untouched, the transition of day into twilight when the sky erupts in a cornucopia of colour. Sunset! There’s no better place to relax and admire the view than on a beach on Kos, so we compiled a list of amazing seaside locations with sunset views that will take your breath away!

Mastichari beach

White sand, warm emerald waters, and exotic ambiance: Mastichari is a vast organized beach which offers plenty of facilities like sunbeds, umbrellas and water-sports. Apart from sunbathing and windsurfing, Mastichari is perfect for romantic promenades, as the sun dips into the sea, painting the sky and the waters all shades of orange, red and purple, creating a unique spectacle.

Agios Fokas

Close to the beaches of Thermes and Psalidi, Agios Fokas is a beach that perfectly combines deep blue waters, dark sand and amazing views to the Aegean Sea and across, to the city of Bodrum on the Turkish coast. Agios Fokas is not as crowded as other popular beaches on Kos, and is a good option if nudism is your thing. During sunset, this beautiful setting gets an extra flair of magic. Celebrate the glorious moment with a cocktail or two at the bar on the edge of the beach.

Cavo Paradiso

A bit off the beaten path, and a long drive to the south coast of Kos, Cavo Paradiso is a hidden gem, untouched by tourism. With its pristine waters and dramatic landscape, it’s definitely worth the drive. Grab a snack and a drink from the canteen and relax here until the sun goes down, creating a spectacular atmosphere.

Tigaki

The Blue-Flag awarded beach of Tigaki is among the most popular beaches of Kos. Warm, shallow waters, fine white sand, touristic facilities, water sports, but also quiet spots for those who want to relax away from the crowds or even try nudism, Tigaki offers everything one might wish.
And then it’s the sunset. The sun dives into the water outlining the figures of Pserimos and Kalymnos islands across the sea, leaving you a sense of tranquility and magic.

Lagoon pool, Astir Odysseus

A few steps from Astir Odysseus private beach, the resort’s emblematic lagoon pool is another amazing spot to watch legendary sunsets. As the sun goes down casting its warm glow over everything in its path, the lagoon pool reflects the fiery orange and purple sky and is perhaps one of the most instagrammable spots on Kos.
